Stonemasonry

Originally I worked as a Drystone dyker before starting my stonemasonry apprenticeship with Historic Scotland. During my time at HS I was given the opportunity to compete at various National level competitions.
Working at Historic Scotland gave me the training and knowledge of how to care for historic buildings, something I am still passionate about today.
Once a fully qualified stonemason I moved on to work for a private stonemasonry firm working on a variety of domestic and commercial projects. With this well rounded experience I am now working for myself to take on new projects.

"Michael is an excellent stonemason & re-pointed a section of our historical church beautifully & sympathetically. The care, attention & pride Michael takes in his work is second to none. Very friendly, professional & thorough, I highly recommend Michael. "

"Michael re-pointed the front of my sandstone house in limestone. It had previously been pointed in cement which damages the stone and looks terrible! I could not have been more delgihted with the results (see before and after pics on Michael's Facebook page). The house looks totally transformed - so much so that several neighbours have told me they now want to do the same to their houses. Michael is brilliant - lovely, professional, his work is impeccable, and I would recommend him to anyone!"
