Edwin S. Lugg
I started building stonework in East Sussex in 2013. Initially, knapping flint and working with lime mortar. Soft red brick works well as a material with flint and is used locally to frame flintwork. I enjoyed the opportunity to travel with work and was drawn by the adventure of walling in different regions.
Travelling with work also gave me opportunities to work with different materials such as sandstone, basalt and granite. And work with various experts within the craft.
In 2020 I moved to the east coast of Scotland and set up Mason Works Walling. We've been trading for 5 years now and have been lucky enough to work across various regions within the UK. The team has grown and operates as a team of two across Aberdeenshire and Scotland (We are open to work further afield). We build traditional dry stone walls as well as lay stonework in lime mortar and continue to strive to put a little heart and soul in to every job we do.
Services
We undertake stonework projects from a traditional lime mortared stone boundary to complex dry stone features.
Edwin is often involved in projects from early stages alongside architects or designers to implement their ideas. Customers and architects keen to use stone during the design process, working through options to ensure that practical and aesthetic considerations are met.
We can provide clients library images to help select specific details with your stone projects.
