Stonemason John

John is definitely a Professional Stonemason who takes great pride in his work.  We chose to have John do the job we needed done due to the good reviews and pictures of the work he had done.  We had a partial collapse of a sandstone wall during Storm Amy which borders a neighbours property so required fast repair.  John came to see the job on the date he said, told us what was entailed and the cost upfront, no added ifs or buts, just a price end of.  He was very prompt on the 2 days he did the job which is brilliant as some workmen today do not care how they treat their customers.  He made a fantastic job of the wall, he was very fussy about the work and gave us lots of good advice on how to protect the job until the cement and pointing hardens.  We cannot recommended more highly and if you need a job done properly and professionally he is your man.  Thank you John for being so honest, reliable and so good at your job.  Best wishes from both of us.

John did a few jobs for us last year (rebuilt a chimney stack and repaired damaged external walls). The work was done to a very high standard, on time and at a reasonable price. We found John to be a skilled and experienced stonemason with a strong focus on attention to detail and quality and strong work ethic. The initial job was to repair one of our stone chimneystacks which was allowing rainwater seepage into the wall of the house. The existing stone turned out to be in much worse condition than expected and all had to be removed, but John did this quickly and efficiently, minimising mess and tidying away the resulting stone chippings/dust/rubble. He then suggested a cost effective solution using immediately available off the shelf materials which avoided the considerable delays and expense that ordering replacement sandstone for all the removed masonry would have entailed.  Since the work was done so quickly and efficiently and at a very reasonable price we have since had John back again to carry out essentially the same work on our other chimney which he has also completed with similar efficiency.
