CMD Stone
CMD Stone is a family business, based at South Coldstream Farm in Drumoak, 12 miles west of Aberdeen city centre. Still an active working sheep farm, the Bichan family have farmed at South Coldstream for 3 generations.
CMD Stone was formed in 2009. Prior to that Dave and Syd Bichan had a mini digger plant hire venture, “Coldstream Mini Diggers” which was a diversification of the farming business and led to the name CMD Stone. Whilst working with landscapers the idea to supply materials for landscaping grew.
It started with a container of limestone, imported from India. CMD then branched out into sandstone, before granite and slate from China and Brazil.
More than 15 years on and we continue to stock limestone, slate, sandstone, imported granite, porcelain, as well as a growing range of reclaimed heritage granite from Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Using specialist cutting tools we reshape and resize original local granite from demolished buildings. We are delighted to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to give this beautiful natural and local product a second life.

We stock Granite, Limestone, Sandstone, Porcelain, Slate and Quartzite products, which we source from high quality suppliers from around the globe.
We are very proud to be able to offer a wide range of reclaimed Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire granite, with a cutting service available. Using our specialist guillotine, saw and tumbling equipment, we can repurpose stone from demolished traditional local granite buildings, and cut to sizes suitable for your home and garden projects. As well as this we now engrave reclaimed granite signs for your home, business or farm.
